Mobile Trailer Roadworthy Certificate (RWC)

Mobile Roadworthy Certificates for Trailers

Did you know that in Queensland, trailers, like other vehicles, must meet certain safety and roadworthiness standards to legally operate on the road. Roadworthy Certificates (RWC), also known as Safety Certificates, are required for trailers under specific conditions, ensuring that they are safe for use on public roads.

What is a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC)?

A Roadworthy Certificate is a document issued by an approved inspection station, certifying that your trailer meets Queensland’s safety standards.

When Do You Need an RWC for a Trailer?

If your trailer has an Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM) of more than 750 kg but less than 4,500 kg, an RWC is required when;
· You are selling, or there is a transfer of ownership.
· You are re-registering the trailer.
· You are transferring interstate registration.
· You are applying for new registration in QLD.

What is Inspected During an RWC Inspection?

During a roadworthy inspection, we will inspect various components of your trailer to ensure it meets Queensland’s safety standards. The main areas of focus include:
·         Braking System
·         Lights and Electrical Components
·         Suspension
·         Coupling and Towing Attachments
·         Tyres and Wheels
·         Chassis and Body
